Sidli-Kashikotra Higher Secondary School is situated in between Sidli- Kashikotra under the District of Chirang, BTC and also 5/6 KM far from Kajalgaon which is Head Quarter of the District. The School was eastablished with a vision in the year 1955 under leadership of Lt. Jinaram Brahma(founder President), Lt. Satish Ch. Basumatary(founder Secretary), Lt. Kalicharan Brahma, Lt. Gouri Kanta Brama, Lt. Lankeswar Basumatary and a galaxy of prominent leaders of Sidli- Chirang areas. This school is covering Bodo dominated areas and a centre place of learning for different Caste and Communities. Its founder Head Master was Lt. Jitendra Narayan Das hailing from Sapatgram. After serving one year or two he left the School so as to join at Dhubri D.C Office as an Office Asstt. In the year 1957 High School was opened with students of Class VII and VIII where Sri Subhash Ch. Chakravorty, Present Rtd. Principal, Bongaigaon College, Bongaigaon, being inducted in the post of head became founder Head Master of the High School standerd. When he left the school for better jobs, a great crisis arised. With a strong persuation of farsighted leaders and public. Lt. Harimohan Brahma who was serving Govt. job of Dhubri I/S Office left the same to fill the vacant and to slove the crisis by joining as a Head Master in the year 1959. During his tenure the school was brought under deficit system in 1973 and provincialized in the year 1977. Due to his effort and hard work and also sacrifice made by eminent leaders and teachers, the school was upgraded in higher secondary level with Science Streams in 1984 and Arts Streams in 1985. In the year HSLC Examination Centre and in 1987 HSSLC Examination Centre were permitted by SEBA and Council respectively. At present, so as to meet the demands of modern age, the school has emerged as Multi-Purpose Institution as because of the various streams like Ag- riculture and Fishery(HS 1st and 2nd year), Computer Science as elective sub- jects beginning from class VIII to XII and establishment of Vocational Training Institute. In brief, this school conducts all itsacademic programme and activities as per Council and Board's norms. The purpose of this Institution is basically to teach and encourge the students coming from the poor family of Bodos and Non- Bodos inrespective of all Caste and Communities in learning higher education.
